Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

Troop 62

Troop 62 has been serving Denver’s youth since 1921. Developing character, citizenship, service, and adventure in the leaders of tomorrow. Leaders are made, not born. Leadership by the boys for the boys. Adventure is calling! In Troop 62 adventure is part of our DNA. Hiking, backpacking, canoeing, biking, and spelunking. Monthly camping trips, summer week-long trips, and high adventure are just some of the adventures we experience each year.

Troop 62 has been serving the youth of Denver for 97 years. We are the second oldest troop in the State of Colorado and second oldest troop west of the Mississippi River. First chartered in 1921 by the newly formed City and County of Denver. The troop started with a small group of 8 scouts and today is home to just under 40. In 1947 the troop moved across the street to the newly created Montclair United Methodist Church. In 1960 our charter transitioned from the Montclair UMC to the Montclair Methodist Men’s Club. To this day we meet at Montclair United Methodist Church and still enjoy our charter partnership with the Methodist Men’s Club.
